So your tech job obviously sucks since you found your way here. What are you going to do about it?
Don’t be like me. I spent 8 years in a software job working crazy long hours and making some corporate executive bozos a lot of money before I wised up and decided there were better ways to earn a buck. I’m now in the process of transitioning from corporate software drone to self-employed entrepreneur.
Writing software is an art and a science. The creative pleasure you experience while designing and writing code feels almost as good as the satisfaction of seeing your component or system re-used and extended to solve someone’s problem. Unfortunately much of that talent and joy is lost in today’s corporate software factory. Insane deadlines, corporate rules & frameworks, support pagers, constantly changing requirements, and outsourcing are only some of the things that suck the life right out of the modern day developer.
“Get a new job if you don’t like the one you have”, your friends and family say. What they don’t understand is the new job may be different for a while but in the end it will likely have all the same problems as the one you’re in now.
So why slave away making someone else rich in a job you don’t even like anymore? Why not strike out on your own? The Internet is overflowing with potential for creative & technically savvy people like you. Take advantage of it! Make the decision and start earning your own money today!
